Remembering Our Original NightingaleDeclaration.net Websites 2007 to 2014
Picture

NIGH's first major website launched our 'Nightingale Declaration Campaign for a Healthy World' — gathering 22,000 commitments from 110 nations — with signatories representing millions worldwide.

It also featured our first 'Global News' section and appreciated the many Organizations, Associations, University Schools of Nursing, Hospitals and individuals who supported this project. Introducing  the '2010 International Year of the Nurse Campaign' —  it also remembered the Centennial of Florence Nightingale's death in 1910 — and advocated for achieving all eight UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The year 2011 launched our first major website upgrade with many new features -- including 50 e-postcards 'signed' by Florence Nightingale and 'stamped' by graphics of official stamps honoring Nightingale and nurses from around the world.

From 2012 to 2014 — this website featured NIGH's 'Daring, Caring & Sharing to Save Mothers' Lives' Campaign — designed to focus advocacy for the UN MDG # 5 — 'Improve Maternal Health.' Across 24 months, this Campaign attracted more than 90,000 unique online visitors — with 3.5 million hits — from 146 nations.

Further details of NIGH's History — from 1996 to 2011 — are featured in four videos highlighted here.
