NIGH's own International Co-Director Dr. Deva-Marie Beck is highlighted on the cover and in a feature article of this June 2021 Edition of the Toastmasters International Magazine—shared worldwide with its outreach to 364,000 Members in 16,200+ Clubs based in 145 nations.
“Nurses are especially key because they are consistently ranked the most trusted profession.”
Deva-Marie is one of four health care professionals—two nurses and two doctors— interviewed. Her story  highlights the work of the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH) and encourages advocacy for nursing and for health through public speaking and sharing stories.
“Nurses don’t speak to the world—yet. And what we have to say is pretty important.”
On the left, this image—from NIGH's archives— of Dr. Deva-Marie Beck is featured in the Toastmasters article. It depicts her 2017 Presentation with ICN President Emerita Dr. Judith Shamian at the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City.
