DRAFT for Discussion & Planning
“We all need good health,
well-being and a good life!”

Preparing a 'Childrens' SDG Song' for the World to Hear, Sing & Share!
In 2015, global goals for the health of all humanity were adopted by every member state of the United Nations agreeing to work together for world-wide achievement by 2030. These are titled ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ and considered relevant to our common future, each and all, as ‘We the peoples of the United Nations…”

These ‘SDGs’ — 17 in all — are an essential blueprint for building the better, healthier world we all wish to see and dwell in!
Perhaps our biggest challenge is to tell the SDG story for everyone to understand and embrace.
Our ‘Children’s SDG Song’ has been created to share the SDG story in an uplifting and inspiring manner — with joyous children singing their call for everyone to see the better, healthier world they hope to  live in one day.
Your support — in whatever way you might offer — will help bring this Song and its Singers — through music — to a whole world still so in need of encouragement, joy and hope!

Hear The Music!
This video is a draft audio recording © composer Juliet Mugirya with the Summit View Army Primary School Choir.  See Music Credit details below.

How The Song Began
At the Summit View Army Primary School in Kampala, Uganda, a talented and famous songwriter/singer named Juliet Mugirya teamed up with the school's Head Master, Andrew Mukhwana, to create a song for children to sing—a song to inspire, advocate and achieve the UN 17 SDGs—a song to actively engage the whole world!

Dreaming A New Dream
The creation of this song came from a dream shared by Andrew with his wife Jeniffer—a teacher and lay-midwife—who have together gathered a team of inter-disciplinary colleagues to establish a team of East African supporters aligned with the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health and with 'NIGH World' in Canada and 'NIGH USA.'
Since this song was developed in Kampala, many changes have occurred. Andrew and Jeniffer have established a new life in Canada. But they have stayed in touch with the song composer Juliet Mugirya and together we are prepared to collaborate with a new team of people to further develop this song and its potential.

Planning A New Plan
So now, we are in early discussion with new potential partners. These include the Great Lakes Peace Center—based in Uganda's Kasese District—with an outreach across Uganda, Kenya, Southern Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Our shared dream is to develop this song as an inspiration to champion the 17 SDGS in our local communities, throughout East Africa' and to be sung, shared and heard across the world.

Enjoy the Lyrics!

Let us inspire one another,
     Working together as one,
     Leaving no one behind,
     Working for our global goals.

 We all need: good health,
Well being and a good life --
     Promoting quality education
     For the future generation.

Refrain: Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
kick them out of here.
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
no room for you here.

Protecting our planet's climate
and natural resources,
Working for prosperous
and fulfilling lives,

Having, solid, and global partnerships, peaceful,
just, and inclusive societies.

Refrain:  Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
kick them out of here.
Say no to poverty, no to hunger
no room for you here.

Accessing clean water
and sanitation,
providing clean energy
affordable for all,

Harnessing gender equality
for a sustainable world --
all these put together will bring
economic growth.

Refrain: Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
kick them out of here.
Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
no room for you here.
Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
kick them out of here.
Say no!
Say no to poverty, no to hunger,
no room for you here!

Music Credits: The composer, Ms. Juliet Mugirya (upper left), taught the Summit View Army Primary School children’s choir—working with Mr. Akena Geoffrey (upper right), Head of Music, Dance & Drama, a Soldier Teacher under Special Force Command [SFC] and Director of Studies; with Ms. Christine Nasikombi, Assistant Director of Studies and Assistant Choir Mistress of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA); and with Mr. Timaka Em Joe, who prepared the video's visual texts.

This school is Government-Aided under the KCCA in its Central Division. The KCCA Education Central Division Supervisor is Mr. Paul Malala who attended this Song's initial music training and blessed and encouraged the training to go on to enable these young children to use their talents in a more profitable way and to fulfill Uganda’s National Goals of Education by promoting the Holistic Education component of the KCCA’s Promotion of Quality Education in the City Schools of Kampala.

For now, they have nicked-named the song 'Say No'— shortened from the longer ‘The 5 Ps SDGs Song: People, Prosperity, Peace, Partnership, Planet.'
