Illustrating the Eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
During the 20 minutes proceeding the 2010 Global Commemorative Service for Nightingale & Nurses — convened at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, on April 25, 2010 — a 'Photo Prelude' was featured.
Shown on two large screens mounted to flank the high altar, 88 high-resolution photos — gathered from sources around the world — showcased each of the eight MDGs in a repeating pattern and illustrated how all of these UN Goals can also be understood as 'health determinants.'
This slide show — with photos, captions and credits — captures the essence of this 'Photo Prelude.'
